“In nature, fall isn’t overwhelming, chaotic, or stressful. It’s about letting go, allowing things to fade, appreciating change, and slowing down.”
Smith, Myquillyn. Welcome Home (p. 36). Zondervan. Kindle Edition.
I love autumn. I love the way that it makes me feel; it allows me to be nostalgic and re-learn the lesson of letting go. Although delicious, I feel like that doesn’t really get conveyed through a pumpkin spice latte. Maybe.
In my favorite seasonal homemaking book, Welcome Home by Myquilyn Smith, the author stresses decorating your home through the lens of the 5 senses. I really connected to that idea and took it heart. So when thinking of the sense of hearing, music is another layer that bring the seasons into your home. Smith talks about making a music playlist for every season.
So I introduce you to Feelings of Autumn; a Fall Music Playlist that I put together to help reflect on that feeling of Autumn in our homes. It may help give you ideas for creating your own personal playlist, too.
This playlist of 50 songs is a mix of genres that hit the emotional cords of change and the beauty of learning to let go, like the season of Autumn teaches us. All the songs touch my heart in a different way. Many of the songs are old gems. Imagine the brisk winds flowing through your hair and take a listen. ⠀
The playlist includes artists like Stevie Nicks, Gillian Welch, Death Cab for Cutie, Mumford & Sons, Bob Dylan & Keith Urban to just name a few.
